Geometry Measurement
We offer two methods for geometry measurement:

• Optical scanning
  Optical scanning utilizes a camera to generate point cloud data over the entire surface of the part. The data can then be discretized to your specifications and provided in several formats.
• CMM
  A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is a device used in manufacturing and assembly processes to test a part or assembly against the design intent. By precisely recording the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the target, points are generated which can then be analyzed via regression algorithms for the construction of features.

Comparison analysis
Point cloud or CMM data can be compared to design intent or to other parts. Point cloud data can be used to generate contour plots highlighting differences between parts or to the design intent.
The traditional method results in point coordinate data according to your specifications.

Model Generation
Point cloud data generated via the optical scan method can be used to generate a CAD model of the actual part. The CAD model can then be used to generate a structural or other model of the physical part for subsequent analysis
